Peril at End Houseby Agatha Christie Can Poirot Stop an Ingenious Enemy?
Peril at End House is a 'Wow' kind of story. It has amazing characters, a wonderful and memorable opening and an equally fascinating ending.
Poirot and amiable side-kick, Hastings are on holiday together at the Majestic in Cornwall.
The two encounter a charming and lively and carefree girl, yet as they talk with her it becomes rapidly clear that something is dreadfully wrong.
Someone - some sinister and determined individual is trying to kill their new acquaintance!
Yet how long can she keep up the carefree facade?
And can she be made to take the threat seriously?
Will Poirot persuade her to be sensible before it is too late?
The story has a good pace, and is structured in such a way that the tension is maintained from start to end.
The story line may not be the most believable, but this is not a real complaint. This is an enjoyable murder mystery which also manages to be a good thriller.
